Büyükelçilik

Türkiye’s first diplomatic representation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was established in Jeddah in 1926, with accreditation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Yemen Arab Republic, and the Sultanate of Oman. Initially founded as a Political Legation, the Mission operated in Jeddah until 1985, when it was relocated to Riyadh at the request of the Saudi authorities, together with other foreign embassies.

The current Embassy building was designed by the renowned Turkish architect Prof. Dr. Ahmet Vefik Alp and incorporates architectural elements inspired by Turkish cultural heritage.

The Turkish Embassy is located on Abdullah Ibn Hudhafah Al-Sahmi Street in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter, home to numerous foreign diplomatic missions.

As the capital and largest city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh serves as the Kingdom’s political, administrative, and economic hub. With a population approaching seven million, it is among the fastest-growing metropolitan centers in the Arabian Peninsula.

Situated at the heart of the Kingdom, Riyadh is approximately 950 kilometers from Jeddah, 800 kilometers from Makkah, and 850 kilometers from Madinah.

Close to 32,000 Turkish nationals reside in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Turkish communities are concentrated mainly in Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Taif, Abha, and Tabuk. International Turkish Schools affiliated with the Turkish Ministry of National Education also operate in these cities.
